Cleft lip and palate is by far one of the most common human craniofacial defects. Understanding the complex nature of the deformity and principles involved in its management is critical in obtaining good outcomes. A significant proportion of the issues associated with orofacial clefting involves dentition and occlusion. It is therefore paramount that dental practitioners managing the
care of patients with clefting have a strong understanding of these principles.

This presentation, intended for general practice and specialty dentists, will expound on scientific evidence for the management of third molars. We will also discuss the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) parameters of care for third molars and answer questions related to when observation would suffice and when a referral for evaluation for surgical removal is warranted.

This presentation will explore the relationship between Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and oral cavity/oropharyngeal tumors in the head and neck. We will review the pathogenesis of the disease, discuss trends over the past 20 years, and then go on to discuss treatment and outcomes of the disease process.
