Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office: Why CPR Is Not Enough
Presented by: Dr. Larry Sangrik
Medical emergencies occurring in the dental office can be stressful and frightening, not only for the patient, but also the entire dental team. This course is designed for dentists and staff to develop strategies to prevent, identify and respond to medical problems dental offices are inclined to encounter. Emphasis will be placed on preparing the dental team to work in a coordinated fashion to optimize patient care.
Course Objectives:
- Identify the six areas in which dental offices need to be prepared to manage a medical event.
- Know how to use a variety of techniques to provide supplemental oxygen to breathing and non-breathing patients.
- Develop a system to delegate responsibilities to all members of the dental team to optimize a response during a medical emergency.
3 CDE Hours will be awarded.
