Get Involved

Volunteer with the Omaha District Dental Society and make meaningful connections with others in the dental community. ODDS standing committees are a gateway to becoming involved in the organization’s activities, networking with others, and staying current on emerging issues while contributing to the mission of organization.

Bylaws Committee
The Bylaws Committee reviews and updates ODDS Bylaws as requested/needed. Contact Dr. Joe Hurd for more information. 

Community Dentistry
Join ODDS friends and colleagues provide oral health education and other community services throughout the year. Sign up to help at KidzExplore (February), Healthy Trick or Treat Nights at the Omaha Children’s Museum (October), or at other events as they become available. Contact Dr. Don Scheidel for more information. 

Membership Committee
Promote membership in ODDS, recruit and retain members, and welcome members at each ODDS meeting. Contact Dr. Nia Jones for more information. 

Nominating Committee
Assist Dr. Takanari Miyamoto in identifying potential leaders for various ODDS roles and prepare for the January election.

Peer Review
Assist the Peer Review Committee in providing necessary steps to ODDS members involved in patient disputes. Contact Dr. Scott DiLorenzo for more information.

Social Events
The ODDS holds several member events throughout the year such as an annual golf tournament, a new dentist welcome party, basketball or other sporting events, a for members only party, and the Relax, Refresh, Renew YOU for women dentist. Contact Erika Kampschnieder for more information. 

Scholarship/Intra-Professional Committee
Promote ODDS scholarships at the Metropolitan Community College Nebraska and the Iowa Western Community College and help recognize recipients at the ODDS meeting in February. Contact Dr. Dennis Anderson for more information.
